Mindfulness 2:

As always, sit comfortably with the spine as straight as possible or whatever posture is comfortable. Breathe naturally for 5 to 10 seconds. Time can be increased as children become more proficient, but I never go over a minute for children less than 12 years of age.

Instead, I prefer to increase the number of repetitions, starting with one or two rounds.

Ask them to focus their attention on their feet for another 5 to 10 seconds, then move their attention to the legs for 5 to 10 seconds, then their bottoms on their chair or cushion, or any point of contact between their bodies and a surface. If lying down, they can focus on their shoulder blades and the back of the head. Always end back at the feet.
